Well today I had a long old tinker. I pulled out most of the door trims, seats and dash to get everything nice and neat and try to combat the feedback.
I have the mouse, keyboard and DVD all installed and working perfectly now and also got the feedback noise down to what it was before I installed the carPC (which is a faint noise at high revs).
I also found out that the GPS mouse I have does work but was set up with too high a data rate. I changed it and now it works perfectly!
Finally I tested out the radio which I found to work well but only when connected to the main car aerial. Since the plug is different I have two choices:
1) Cut off the original plug and wire it directly into the D-Link
2) Try and locate or manufacture an adapter.
I would prefer option 2 so I still have the ability to connect the head unit later but it may be difficult to find what I need.
